Registration on e-Tshwane and usage of the site is free. Please note, however, that your bank will still charge you their standard transaction fee for utilising the site to pay your Tshwane bill.
Visit the e-Tshwane home page and select the 'Register' option at the top right of the page.
To complete the registration process you will need the following:
The e-Tshwane site will have a record of all statements from the time that you register for the service. The site retains a minimum of 2 year's history of your statements and payments made via e-Tshwane.
The e-Tshwane team has made every effort to ensure that the user's personal and business information is protected by using the highest forms of browser security available.
The site is secured by SSL certificates which ensure that the security certificates generated by the site are valid and secure. Every time a user connects to the e-Tshwane website, an encrypted and completely secure connection is made between your browser and the e-Tshwane servers thus, ensuring that your experience is safe and secure.
The e-Tshwane web site address is e-Tshwane. When accessing the e-Tshwane site, look for the "s" in https:// at the beginning of the e-Tshwane web address https://www.e-tshwane.co.za/eTshwane/ and (on most browsers) the lock symbol will appear in the address bar.

You are able to add your Company Account on the menu below:
Agents are able to register and load accounts on behalf of their customers. Or your customer may also register on e-Tshwane and then invite you to have access to their municipal account, via the e-Tshwane site. For more information, see the 'Invite User' and "add account" section of the site.
For support purposes, the e-Tshwane Call Center agents will have access to your client's information - to assist in the event of a support query/call. Please ensure that your clients are aware of this fact and refer to the Terms & Conditions for additional information.
Yes. e-Tshwane allows you to invite other users to either view a municipal bill, or view and pay the bill. Further information is available under the 'Invite User' section of the site.
As a tenant, you can register on e-Tshwane and ask your landlord to give you access to their municipal account. They will then decide whether you can only view the account, or view and pay the account on their behalf.
Most banks allow you to add extra users to your Internet Banking profile. If you have a spouse/partner/colleague that needs access to your accounts (or the company's accounts), you can add them to your Internet Banking profile, and then track their activities on your bank accounts.
By default, the bank will assign the main user with the User Number of 1, any subsequent profiles added to the main user profile, will be assigned sequential User Numbers, such as 2, 3, etc . If you are unsure utilise the default of 1.
To add extra users to your Internet Banking Profile, you will need to visit your bank with the relevant documents. Please contact your bank directly, in order for them to assist you with this process.
The site currently does not cater for pre-paid electricity, but watch this space...
e-Tshwane users can now submit meter readings through the site under the 'Municipal Services' section of the site.
Log on to the e-Tshwane site. Select the 'Account Manager' option under 'Accounts' in the main menu. Select the 'Add Account' button. Input the details of the account and select the 'Add Account' button. For security pruposes the account will not be added without the required information. The account will now be listed on your Account Manager page.
Once you have added your municipal bill to your profile, log into the e-Tshwane site. Select the 'Account Manager' option under 'Accounts' in the main menu. A list of your associated municipal accounts will be displayed. Select the account you wish to pay and click on the 'Pay selected Accounts' option. Input the amount you wish to pay, select your preferred payment type and click on the 'Continue' button.
Alternatively Standard Bank customers can utilize MyBills within Internet banking.
Please note: ABSA payment methods require you to log into your ABSA banking profile to authorise the payment release. The status for your payment will remain as 'Pending' on the e-Tshwane site, until you have completed the payment release.
If your service is suspended for non payment then tick the "payment for reconnection" box and your service will be reconnected within 4 hours. Your account must be fully paid.
Log on to the e-Tshwane site. Select the 'Account Manager' option under 'Accounts' in the main menu. Select the account you wish to delete, then select 'Delete Account' button.
Log on to the e-Tshwane site. Select the 'Account Manager' option under 'Accounts' in the main menu. Select the account you with to share with the new user and then click on the 'Invite User' button. Fill in the new user's details and determine whether you want them to be able to view or pay the bill. Select 'Send Invite'.
e-Tshwane will send the user an invitation to view/pay the account. Their details will be verified first and, if necessary, they will be asked to register on the site. Once they have accepted the invitation, the new user will be able to view/pay the account.
Log into e-Tshwane and select the Manage Profile menu. Navigate to the User Rights page. Scroll down to the account with the associated user and select the 'No Access' Access Rights option for that user. If you wish for the user to only be able to view the account, select the 'Read Only' option.
On the www.e-Tshwane.co.za home page, select the 'Login' option to the top right of the page. Then select the relevant 'Forgot Username' or 'Forgot Password' option and follow the steps to reset your password or recover your username.
Log into e-Tshwane and select 'Communication Preferences' under the 'Manage Profile' menu. Next to the relevant account number, select the 'get statement via email' option.
The e-Tshwane site will only reflect the payments made through the payment methods available on e-Tshwane website and the MyBills payment services.
